Magna Graecia awaits you
Unique Historical Journeys into the South of Italy
Small-group journeys led by licensed tour guides, expert historians and archaeologists, who love sharing their passion. Designed for curious travelers who want to connect with the past on a deeper, more personal level.
The voices of Magna Graecia echo through living landscapes

Southern Italy is so much more than its famous monuments. It is a living palimpsest: mountain paths once walked by shepherds and philosophers, volcanic coasts where Greek ships once landed, river valleys that carried grain, ideas and stories for millennia.
These are the very lands of Magna Graecia (“Great Greece”), founded by Greek colonists from the 8th century BCE. Cities such as Kroton (home to Pythagoras), Elea (Parmenides and Zeno), Metapontum, Sybaris, Tarentum, Locri Epizephyrii, and Poseidonia/Paestum became thriving centers of philosophy, temples, and hybrid Greek–Italic culture, where Greek settlers lived alongside — sometimes in harmony, sometimes in tension with — the native Italic peoples: Lucanians, Bruttians, Messapians, and Daunians.
The encounter between these worlds created something extraordinary: a rich hybrid culture that later shaped Roman, Byzantine, and medieval Italy.
We explore these layered landscapes slowly, listening to their stories: forgotten sanctuaries, Hellenistic walls emerging from the maquis, Roman wheel-ruts beneath medieval tracks, sacred springs still flowing after three thousand years.
These explorations are for those who wish to travel thoughtfully, with genuine wonder — guided by people who have spent years uncovering the hidden layers of Magna Graecia and sharing them with fellow enthusiasts.
What sets us apart

Journeys not tours
We create immersive, expert-led learning experiences far beyond conventional tourism. Small groups (8–12) allow deep engagement, flexible pacing, and real conversation. We favor hidden sites and cohesive historical narratives over crowded highlights — designed for discerning travelers passionate about history, archaeology, ancient Mediterranean cultures, and natural landscapes.
This is an ongoing curatorial project.
We offer expert-led, week-long programs in consecutive series. As our knowledge of landscapes, sites, and communities grows, we design new journeys—sometimes centered on key historical movements or figures in Italy. Full details, including itineraries and accommodations, are released with each program.
In addition to our series of scheduled week-long journeys, we also craft custom-made itineraries of variable duration, tailored to your interests and group. These explorations focus on selected territories of Southern Italy — ideal for private travelers, families, scholars, or small groups seeking a more personalized pace and depth.
